Alan Flanagan is an Irish screenwriter and playwright who recently moved to Toronto to pursue a career in the creative arts. When not contributing to the WildSound Movies site, he is a selector for the regular WildSound short film festival and a reader for our many script competitions.
He also works for the Toronto International Film Festival, and as part of the writing team for comedy web series Tights & Fights. When not doing any of the above, he is usually writing new works, and over the past five years has completed over a dozen plays and several short and full-length screenplays.
Outside the wonderful world of writing he is a founding member of Ethiopian charity Youth Release and a supporter of gay marriage rights through Irish lobby group NOISE. For more information you can check out his blog www.parallelevision.com, where you can read his scripts, peruse television and film reviews and get in touch.
